Walk the Dream is Pete Boehm's brainchild. A lifelong entrepreneur even when working in corporate America, Pete knows first hand the amazing highs and daunting lows associated with starting your own business. He also knows how important it is to have a solid group of supporters necessary for any business to succeed. "Good ideas and all the best intentions in the world only get you so far…it truly does take a community to help a business succeed."
Originally from Germany, Pete moved to the U.S. as a little boy; "I sold my accent for beer money in college. Mom and Dad came here with little more than determination and the will to succeed. Walk the Dream is a journey to celebrate the American spirit and small business innovation but also is a tribute to my parents for giving my brother and I a taste of the American Dream".
Labeled an idiot savant; often minus the whole "savant" thingy, Pete's vision, his dream is to create volunteer based business communities, called Seed Funds, where people provide time, energy, talent and support to help launch 10 – 15 small businesses in select cities throughout the U.S. every year. With 50% of small businesses failing in the first 5 years, a supportive community is truly the key to success; especially in this difficult economy.
Walk the Dream is a virtual documentary showcasing small businesses doing amazing things not only in their industry but also giving back to their community. Sure, Walk The Dream is cause promoted through an extreme test of human endurance and commitment but the cause is sound and the message is clear….the best way to help ourselves is by helping others first."
Our "Stretch Goal" is to raise enough money where we can create 10 Seed Funds in select cities throughout the United States; preferably those cities most impacted by a down economy. These Seed Funds will feature local business volunteers who, with the assistance of funding from Walk The Dream, will help launch, support and guide new businesses in these communities. "A healthy economy is still based upon a healthy small business community. Remember, all boats rise with the tide". Learn more about Seed Funds by clicking
